 Breaking any kind of compatibility is bad, but in this case it's at
 compile time - any 3rd party prpl that uses the DATADIR #define wouldn't
 compile.

 The last two line changes switch loading pidgin.dll for libpurple.dll and
 then says "this probably means that GTK+ can't be found" which is
 incorrect.  libpurple.dll could load fine, but pidgin.dll won't load if
 GTK+ isn't found.
