Comment:

 This looks like a weird interaction between the background and what is
 written in the chat.

 I guess this *may* be done through the conversation themes + some HTML5
 magic + a plugin. I think there is no need to implement it directly on
 pidgin.

 Setting it to Plugin Suggested for reference.
