Comment:

 -12173 is SSL_ERROR_WEAK_SERVER_EPHEMERAL_DH_KEY which means the server
 certificate is too weak to provide adequate security. Either update the
 server certificate to be stronger or use the NAS Prefs plugin to allow
 Pidgin to connect with a weaker minimum key length
