 Wanted to add it's especially problematic for the first window I have
 open. Say there are six chat windows open... the first window that's
 opened is definitely one that barely ever flashes, doesn't stay
 highlighted, and never has the prepended note when a response is given.

 More info: I use individual chat windows, not tabbed windows.
