 Hi,

 I've realised that as soon as you enter a BOSH URL, Pidgin will use BOSH
 to connect rather than first check if regular XMPP connection is
 available.

 It was my understanding that BOSH is an alternative connection method,
 mainly used when one can't connect over port 5222 (in case of a
 restrictive firewall, for instance).

 Pidgin should use BOSH as a fallback method, as it is A/ not XMPP's
 primary connection method and B/ much slower than default XMPP in Pidgin.
 Alternatively, Pidgin could offer an option with a checkbox to use BOSH as
 a fallback or as the default XMPP connection method.
