Comment:

 According to the [http://meanwhile.sourceforge.net/docs/draft-houri-
 sametime-community-client-00.txt Sametime protocol draft], the server does
 not send any information to the client about the character encoding that
 it uses. Furthermore, there are no functions available in the
 [http://meanwhile.sourceforge.net/docs/api/0.4.2/index.html libmeanwhile
 API] which would allow obtaining that information.
