 One combination which surfaced the behavior:
 - with Windows multiple display active.
 - activate dockable budy list in 2nd display.
 - move the window and undoking it on 1st display
 - minimize the buddy list window
 - deactivate multiple displays
 - blank area of dockable list appears on desktop, which can't be bypassed
 only by quitting pidgin of deactivating the Dockable Budy List.
 - when activating buddy list, window is appearing in non blank area
 accessible for any application.
