 When receiving the first message from someone, the conversation pointer of
 the received-im-msg signal is NULL.

 Steps to reproduce:
 1. Subscribe to the received-im-msg signal
 2. Connect to irc.euirc.net

 You will receive a few messages from multiple server bots where the
 conversation pointer is NULL in the first signal for each bot.

 I have reproduced the same issue when receiving a message from an ICQ
 buddy, so I think it is not protocol specific.

 The issue does not occur when a chat window for the user was opened before
 the message was received.

 I am using the newest Pidgin version that is currently available for
 Windows (2.12.0).

 This is a possible duplicate of #16699.
