 I have started to receive spam messages to my XMPP address, and was
 disappointed to find that Pidgin has this bug on saving privacy status. It
 would be indeed convenient to have this fixed, considering the increased
 amount of spam messages in Jabber/XMPP network.

 Is there any workaround or third-party plugin which would do the job
 meanwhile?
