 I'm getting messages that I've received and read hours earlier, even in
 the same message window.

 example:

 (11:34:14) SkinnyN0rris: moin[[BR]]

 (13:31:52) c0pa_: wieder @work?[[BR]]
 (13:32:07) SkinnyN0rris: japp[[BR]]

 the last message arrived hours later.

 Or sometimes I would be greeted on login with some old messages which
 aren't even the latest with that contact.

 This happens daily since a couple of weeks.

 It happens with various protocols (steam, discord).
