Interesting.  I wonder why, since they obviously have the filtering
capability, they applied it non-uniformly.
May I suggest:

* ^X-Been-There: commits at pidgin.im$
|formail -I "Subject: [Commits] $SUBJECT"
With this recipe, only those with substandard mail software have to
deal with the header munging.
