To emphasize the fact that the backend library and the GTK+ client
(and console client) are all entirely independent. Rather than saying
that "libgaim is the library behind Gaim," reinforcing the connection
between the two, we'd prefer to say that "Pidgin is a client that uses
libpurple, as are Finch and Adium." It was important for us to make it
clear that there are no interdependcies between these codebases.
