Search within contacts list in search box

Please check out version 7.5 of IBM sametimes client. They have a real good
feature having a search box oin the top of the contact list. As soon as you
start typing it is reducing letter by letter typed in the possible contacts
in the list until finally the only one is left over for which you can
immediately send a message to.
Is that easy to implement. This would be fantastic.
