I'd like to help develop voice/video support

I was wondering if I could help out. I was reading
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/34 and felt that I could help out.

My qualifications:
I've got 5+ years of C experience.
I've got a BS in CS from Carnegie Mellon.
I work as a Software Engineer in C++ in Linux.
I'm pretty familiar with MinGW.
I'm interested in it.
I've got 15hrs+ per week of free time.

However, I don't have experience in undocumented network protocols,
but I think I could learn.
What can I do to help out?
