Scroll wheel does not work

Hi!
 
 
Both in Pidgin 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 on Windows, the scroll wheel does not work, at least for IRC channel conversations.
 
Actually it is not a real scroll wheel, but an emulated one on a TouchPad on a laptop (HP nw8440).
 
OS is Windows XP Pro SP2
