Dancing/jumping widgets is annoying, so I don't much like this opinion,
but it does get suggested a lot.

Switching to the buddy list is not necessary even now, you can just switch
to the tab for the buddy, since the information is in the infopane. So,
the inconvenience here is in being unable to Just See It as opposed to
being forced to switch windows to see it.
