Pidgin does not endorse, host, or link to packages that were not created by a
Pidgin developer or a distribution maintainer.  As such, the response to this
and all other package requests will always be to wait for your distribution to
package it or compile it yourself for the cases where Pidgin does not provide
prebuilt binary packages.

Worthy of mention is also the fact that Pidgin 2.0.0 is present in Debian
unstable and that package may be usable on many Debian-based systems.
