To be fair, I talked with attorneys about people distributing modified
versions of Pidgin to work with proprietary voice codecs, not this
issue in particular. I felt that what I learned from that discussion
is largely applicable here, and that's why I brought it up. I haven't
heard back from our lawyers about this issue yet, so anything I can
say should come with a nice "I'm not an attorney. This is not legal
advice" disclaimer as well.
