Getting some peer info in OSCAR

I'm looking for a way to get some peer client info with libpurple when talking 
via AIM. What I need is
1) some client software information
2) capabilities (I see AOL client displays online buddy clients capabilities, 
like receiving videos, pictures, file transfers)

What I found is libpurple/protocols/oscar/family_icbm.c::aim_im_fingerprint() 
for the first case, but can't find where it should be applied to get the data 
it parses. Any ideas for this and for the 2nd item?
