IRC: Auto commands on connect

Hi,

As with most IRC clients, I would like a function for auto commands on 
connect.  Obviously to identify my nick.

Since my wireless internet connection often loses connection and 
automatically reconnects, this is kind of crucial for me. When I'm not 
at home, I need my nick to be identified.

Is this possible somehow?  I couldn't find a place to enter these commands.
