Keep in mind that "webcam chats" are also quite popular among people
(especially MSN users), i.e. audio is not used, only the camera. The
IM part is still the main focus of these conversations, so it
shouldn't be put too much into the background. For this use case
Maiku's suggestion isn't that bad.
