google summer of code

I see that Google is starting to take applications from projects and 
will soon be taking applications from students.  What sort of things 
would we like to see in this year's projects?

I've gathered that we *don't* want to have yet another summer of msn. 

I think an interesting project might be a summer of bug fixes, similar 
to the efficency improvement project we had last year.
