I have not tested x64 versions of Windows, but Pidgin must be built in 
32-bit mode.  Please ensure that all of the tools you have downloaded 
are the 32-bit versions of the packages, including MinGW gcc and its 
components.

If I can get ahold of any x64 boxes I will test it out myself.
