moving contacts between groups

Hi guys,


I hope someone can help me.
This question is in regard to my libPurple protocol plugin:


I am looking for a way to move contacts between groups
from the protocol plugin side. I don't see any API call
to do this.

My alternative is to remove the buddy first from the blist
and then to re-add him again with the new group as parameter.
This has the side effect that he appears to be going offline
and then coming online again (and possibly losing his blist
info like avatar etc.). This is not ideal.

Are there an easier way to move contacts from one group to
another? Or am I just blind not to find the right way?
