Getting contact list of an account

Hi,

I am developing a chat extension for firefox using libpurple library. I am
referring nullclient.c and libpurple documentation for APIs. Now I could
connect to a particular account but can't get contact list of that account.
I called purple_get_blist after connecting account but it is returning a
zero sized GHashTable.
So can anyone please tell me how to get contact list of an account ?
