I'd like to see all the big SoC branches merged for 3.0 (and merging in GObjectification *and* everything else would probably be...horrible). Toward that, I threw together a wiki page http://d.pidgin.im/wiki/BranchStatus with a brief interview of the big branches and their status (which was mostly placeholders when I made it).

I debated posing this question here, but I saw the wiki page and thought
I'd bring it up. As an avid user of Adium on the mac, I've noticed one
thing about the IM windows and being webkit based, is that all of the
IMs are css controlled and are /virtually/ html. The one thing that
bothers me, and I've been working on finding a decent way to fix it
myself (theme), is that when you try to copy/paste, most of the themes
that Adium has are not copy/paste friendly and wind up bringing too much
information, or the formatting is way off and it looks weird. The only
thing I want to make a point of, is when the WebKit switchover is made,
that the default theme behave much like the current pidgin base theme
does, in that it's inline and the formatting during a copy/paste doesn't
go...awkward for a lack of a better word.

I'm sorry for the hijack, I just wanted to voice opinion/concern about that.
