Nah, I don't think I've ever seen anyone ask that. Adding it to the
FAQ would just make the other, more useful, information harder to
find.

I don't think I follow this... what would you redirect to /dev/null?
We shouldn't be printing anything to stdout or stderr unless Pidgin
was started with -d.
