FYI rekkanoryo and Ethan mentioned in devel at conference.pidgin.im that they didn't think this was a great SoC project. One concern was that it's a bit administration-heavy. Which is a fair point--it is called summer of CODE after all. This project might have no Pidgin/libpurple coding at all, and I'm not even sure if coding would be required to perform the migration.
