GSOC 2013 ideas regarding XMPP

Another XMPP idea - this time more on the distributed social network side:

Would there be any interest in adding buddycloud (either via the XMPP or
the HTTP API) channel support to Pidgin?

This project would enable you to receive your buddycloud channel posts (eg:
https://demo.buddycloud.org/simon@buddycloud.org) pushed to them in the
client (like a chat message) and then also scroll back through the history.

I've helped mentor three other GOSC-ers before and would be happy to help
again this year if there is interest in this idea or any other XMPP-ish
ideas.
