I also agree 100%.

I know it's not going to change, but it really has been a hassle for me.
Literally everything else I work on uses git, so it's a pain to do
anything in Pidgin. That doesn't make git better or more correct or
whatever, but it is more popular and common for me.

The GitHub vs. Bitbucket thing is similar, but a much smaller issue for
me personally than Git vs Mercurial.
