signature corrupt or invalid

When I try to download the latest version of Pidgin, my OS states that "the signature of pidgin-2.10.11.exe is corrupt or invalid", and won't even let me override the system so that I can download anyway. I don't know the security risks here really, but it's annoying and I'd like to be able to get the latest version. I use Windows 7.
