Shortcut

I know this is probably a very stupid question but I've recently downloaded Pigeon to my laptop and it didn't automatically send a shortcut link to my desktop.? I've gone to where the program is saved?and when I create a shortcut from that file the shortcut is just for reloading the program to my laptop.? It isn't so open the Buddy List.? HELP.
