Pidgin crashes at exit

Well that's obviously not supposed to happen.  I wonder, do you have any 3rd
party plugins installed?  You might want to try following the instructions at
http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReports for getting a backtrace and
submitting a bug report.
