I have read the blog entry about "Giving Back"

It's been posted for months, but please excuse me for being late. I
understand that many users do not give the proper feedback to make Pidgin a
better program, I have had a few complaints about it, however most changes,
I've gotten used to but the rest I really cannot deal with. In my opinion,
Pidgin is absolutely marvelous at everything it does, but as times goes by
the program seems to get bigger and bigger. My first impression on Pidgin
was for low resource usage, small file size and easiness of usage. I have no
updated Pidgin in the longest time due to the unnecessary changes that been
added on. The first time I downloaded Pidgin, it was about 20MB maybe? And
now it's almost 30MB and I haven't seen any improvement except more
unnecessary additions. One of them included removing the "typing icon" and
adding the auto-resizing of the text box when I am typing. I was always fond
of the icon that shows up when the user is typing back, now it's just not as
unique when there's just "<Username> is typing..." It just reminds me more
of AIM classic and other chat clients which I have refused to use because of
ads and not being able to customize. I honestly love Pidgin, but with all
the changes.. I wonder if there could be a option to change and customize
settings for the new additional or changed features, otherwise, I could
always stick with the older version.

Thank you :)
