Two typing notifications don't make sense. What do you think?

While putting it in the formatting toolbar is certainly an interesting
idea, and not one I would have thought of, I'm not sure it is a good idea,
for a variety of reasons. First off, the toolbar tends to house buttons
that indicate state and not random transient icons. Second, many people
(myself included) turn off the formatting toolbar and thus would be unable
to see that notification icon.

What are you doing that the new typing notification is apparent and
distracting enough to be a problem?
