I can answer this (gross logical fallacy) like this: because, when I
implemented the IRC plugin, I implemented /part. No other reason.

Rejoining is an entirely different issue from parting. There are
various circumstances under which rejoining is more painful than it
should be (indeed, if the IRC account has been disconnected, I think
the windows are still disowned).
