WinXP - Pidgin 2.5.1 crashing on startup

You're right about it being a GTK+ issue.

Which version of Windows is this?

Is this a "normal" desktop or is it something like a remote Citrix or
Terminal Services client?

This issue is related to GTK+ not being able to detect your display
properties correctly.
