BEEP at end of list

I have Pidgin 2.5.2 on a Windows XP machine.

I'd like to know if there's a way I can get rid of the BEEP it does when you
scroll down the buddy list and it reaches the end. I have an HP laptop and
the beeping is done by the speakers (since it doesn't have a built-in system
speaker) and sometimes it bursts my ears!

I looked in the preferences, but found nothing. Hope someone can tell me how
to do it, if possible.
