What does Pidgin's debug log say is the reason for the disconnection?
How are you connected to the internet? (Disconnections after a period
are often due to firewalls and network address translators timing out
the outbound connection and deleting information necessary to handle
responses. Some consumer ISPs gratuitously change IP addresses
periodically.)
How does the official client behave on your system.
What version of Pidgin are you using?

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
