Persistence for all IM conversations?

Hello,

Is it possible to have persistence for all IM conversations, rather than
just for chats?

I'm using Pidgin 2.5.4 on Windows and the type of behavior I'm looking for
is this:

1.  The ability to collapse any IM conversation window into the system tray
icon (if it's tabbed, then just the one main conversation window).
2.  The ability to restore any IM conversation window and retain all
previous chat text as if it were open.
3.  The ability to make this possible on any IM conversation window without
having to create a chat room to do so.
