Cant change local alias

Hello pidgin people :)
A few days back my windows crashed and I had to restart. After that Pidgin
will only display my email address for my MSN account as my alias. I've
tried to change the local alias in Manage Accounts many times but it wont
work. I then tried upgrading from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6 as I noticed a newer
version was out. But that didnt help either.

Im hoping someone have a suggestions to what I can do to make this work
again? :-)
