You can configure one application to use a proxy and configure another
to connect directly at the same time. In Pidgin, you can configure
proxies per-account (but not per-application).
This means that you won't need to configure Pidgin in any special way if
you want to use BitTorrent via Proxy.

I have never used a proxy before but i need one as my ISP blocks my
torrents. Terminolagy goes right over my head, I understand what proxies
do but I haven't a clue whether I have a proxy and all the install
instructions mean nothing to me, sorry to be so thick, I don't think I
know how to configure Tor either and am equally perplexed. Thanks for
your time.
