To the regulars, please ignore the reference to MXiT.  The question here 
is about the included "ticker" plugin, not about the third party MXiT 
plugin (what's happened to MXiT's promise to monitor this list?)

I don't have Pidgin installed yet, only GAIM, although I assume this is 
a simple case of disabling the plugin using the standard plugin options.
