Hypertext Links in IM Windows

Hello,

Is there a way that I can change the browser that opens when I click on a link in an IM or chat window? I use firefox for work, and we have an in house database that my employees often send me links to so that I can see what they are seeing. Everytime that I click one, it opens an Internet Explorer window. Can I set it to use firefox?
