Pidgin: A couple of issues

Hi,

I'm running WinXP SP3 on my laptop with pidgin version 2.7.8.
Unfortunately, I am having a couple of problems that are not overly
major, though somewhat of an annoyance.

I found one of my issues
listed in ticket #604; the displaying of CJK characters in my buddylist
are square blocks. I have tried to locate "pango.aliases" on my
computer, but such a file does not exist, which may be my issue. I have
searched the mentioned "common files/GTK/2.0/ etc." directory path.
However, there is nothing beyond the GTK folder. This is something
peculiar as another computer, also WinXP SP3 and pidgin 2.7.8, has said
directories and no CJK display issue on the buddylist. I'm a bit baffled
as to the situation and humbly ask what a possible fix would be for
this issue. I tried downloading the latest GTK from sourceforge and
unzipped all files manually into a "2.0" folder I created under the GTK
folder, then placed the "pango.aliases" in its respective place. This
was to no avail.

My other issue is with the MSN messenger. When I
am sent an invite to a chatroom, I cannot see an invite to accept. I've
searched for this issue, but have yielded no results. I've had this
problem for awhile, but it has only recently become bothersome as I have
started to have a need for group chats. I can create a chatroom and
invite people, however.

If there is information as to solving
these issues that I have not managed to find, please direct me towards
it, or explain to me if no such information has been posted. Sorry for
any possible inconveniences on your end.
