Google Talk

I have an e-mail address (e.g. me at work_email.com) that I connect to via
Gmail but it has a different domain name (i.e. hosted on Gmail). I can
connect to Google Talk using this e-mail address  but I'm not entirely sure
how do this in Pidgin. Can U provide some insight please?
