Have facebook friends in a separate group

In this case the buddies are not in any specific group, so Pidgin uses
the default of "Buddies."  It is not possible to change this default
value apart from editing the source code and rebuilding.

The only way I know of to put these buddies in a different group is to
log into chat on www.facebook.com, create a Friend List, and drag each
buddy into it one by one.
