Pidgin 2.7.3 not connecting to MXit

To whom it may concern,

Firstly thanks for making a great and free product! Pidgin is the best IM
around without a doubt.

Now for my nag :) I have Pidgin of Windows v2.7.3 installed and use it for
Gmail and MXit connectivity. On Friday, September 3rd 2010, the MXit profile
stopped working. Was there a change to their servers or a configuration
change? A friend who I chat to on Gmail also reported the same problem. I
have attached screenshots showing my configuration.

In 2b and 4b I changed the server configuration to "pc.stream.mxit.com" as
was suggested in on of the forums. It doesn't give an error immediately but
still fails after a few seconds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
