two separate conversation windows?

why is this happening now? When I start a conversation a window opens to my
selected buddy
and I see a normal chat window with my message to them but once I send the
message a second
tab opens with my address in it and only the message I sent, the sent
message appears under both tabs.
I am now using Win 7 and MSN. /its a new comp and OS for me, my older sys
died, I was using
Ubuntu and never had this happen.
