Greetings,

when trying to upgrade pidgin, i stumbled upon the following issue; it
appears that my pidgin-data package is too old for the new pidgin. I
would really love to keep using pidgin (as i prefer a *working*
im-client over the one included by default gnome atm.) but am not sure
how to proceed from here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

# sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  pidgin: Depends: pidgin-data (>= 1:2.7.9) but
1:2.7.7-1ubuntu0+pidgin1.10.04 is installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
